  3. Give your post a title - a URL slug is generated automatically
  4. Write your content in the rich-text editor, or use the AI Draft Assistant to generate a starting point
  5. Optionally add a cover image, excerpt, and tags in the left sidebar
  6. When you're ready, click Publish

Your post is live immediately at blog.proangler.com/{handle}/{slug}. There is no editorial review - published posts go live instantly.

Managing Your Posts

Go to Blogs in your dashboard to see all your posts. From here you can:

  • View the status of each post (Draft or Published)
  • Create a new post
  • Open the editor for an existing post
  • Publish a draft directly from the list
  • Delete a post

Post Statuses

StatusMeaning
DraftSaved but not published. Only you can see it. Fully editable.
PublishedLive on blog.proangler.com. Editable at any time.

Drafts

Posts start as drafts and are not visible to the public until you publish them. You can return to a draft at any time to continue editing.

The slug is generated from the title while the post is in draft status. Once you publish, the slug is locked so existing links don't break. You can manually edit the slug from the left sidebar at any point before publishing.

Editing a Published Post

You can edit a published post at any time. Changes are saved and reflected immediately. No need to unpublish first.

Unpublishing

Clicking Unpublish returns a post to draft status and removes it from public view. If you publish it again later, the post keeps its original URL and publish date.

Cover Image, Excerpt & Tags

ExcerptShort summary shown in post cards and search results. Auto-generated from the first 150 characters of body text if left blank. Maximum 250 characters.
TagsUp to 5 tags. Help readers find related content. Tags are clickable and link to search results.

Adding Blog Posts to Your Profile

Use the Featured Blog plugin to display a grid of your posts directly on your ProAngler profile page.

  1. Go to Plugins in your dashboard
  2. Enable Featured Blog
  3. Open the plugin editor and select which posts to feature
  4. Save and publish the plugin

Visitors on your profile will see a card grid linking directly to each post.

AI Draft Assistant

Pro and Business members can generate a blog post draft directly from the editor. Enter a topic or idea in the AI Draft Assistant panel in the left sidebar and click Generate Draft.

  • The AI writes a focused ~600 word draft structured with an intro, 2–3 body sections, and a closing paragraph
  • The draft uses only the topic you provide - it does not search the web
  • If you already have content in the editor, you will be asked to confirm before it is replaced
  • The draft is a starting point - edit, expand, and make it your own before publishing
  • Usage resets every Monday

AI drafts are a starting point. Review and personalize the output - your voice and on-the-water experience are what make blog posts worth reading.

Sharing Your Post

Once a post is published, two sharing options appear in the left sidebar of the editor.

Clicking Share to X opens X (Twitter) in a new tab with your post title and blog URL pre-filled as a tweet. Review the text, add anything you want, and post.

{Post Title}

{Excerpt (up to 200 characters)}

blog.proangler.com/{handle}/{slug}

No account connection required - you are already logged into X in your browser.

Prepare to Share

Clicking Prepare to Share opens a panel with your full post formatted and ready to copy in sections - useful for X Articles and other long-form content platforms.

SectionWhat it contains
TitleYour post title - copy with one click
BodyFull post body in plain text. Headings, lists, blockquotes, and links are preserved. Images are excluded.
Cover Image URLDirect link to your cover image for uploading manually
TagsYour post tags, comma-separated

Copy each section, then click Open X Articles β†’ to go directly to x.com/compose/articles and paste.

Images embedded in the body are not included in the plain text export. Download them separately from your post and insert them manually if needed.

Archived Accounts

If an account is archived, all of that author's published blog posts are removed from public view automatically. Posts are not deleted. They are set to an archived status and are no longer accessible on blogs.proangler.com.

Angler Points

Publishing a new blog post awards Angler Points to your pool. Points are only awarded on the initial publish - unpublishing and republishing the same post does not award additional points.

See Angler Points for more on how the points system works.
